Delaware Hospice

Organization Mission:

Delaware Hospice supports every individual, family, and community with compassionate, expert care for serious illness. We provide advanced illness management through our programs and services: Delaware Hospice, Delaware Palliative, Delaware Hospice Center, Katybug Pediatric Program, Bereavement, and New Hope.

All proceeds from Do More 24 Delaware will go to our New Hope Program.

New Hope is a nationally-recognized program available to Delaware Hospice families and those in the community, who have experience the loss of a loved one. It is designed to help children ages 6-17 sort through the maze of emotions experienced before and after a loved one dies.

New Hope offers a variety of ways to support and educate individuals and their families. Children have benefited from an opportunity to interact with someone who has experienced a similar ordeal. Additionally, New Hope offers education and consultation with community groups, school and other agencies. Delaware Hospice is able to offer the New Hope program free of charge because of the generosity of the local community.

Camp New Hope is an annual summer day camp that's a unique component to the program. The camp gives children the opportunity to connect with others their own age who have also experienced a loss. The environment is safe and fun, with age appropriate activities and experiences. Through group projects and counseling, individual support, education and free time, children have the chance to work through their grief and loss with their peers. There is a memorial Service at the end of camp to celebrate and honor the life of each child's loved one.
About Delaware Hospice

We are more than just Hospice.
Delaware Hospice offers many different programs designed to meet you and your family at any stage of serious illness.

Delaware Hospice helps patients and families focus on their time together and get back to what’s important. In addition to attending to your family’s practical and physical needs, our trained specialists help you navigate any emotional and spiritual concerns that may arise in the face of a life-limiting illness.

Delaware Palliative offers relief to seriously ill patients who are receiving active, curative treatment. Assistance is provided to identify goals of care and manage symptoms while dealing with the physical and psychosocial burdens of a serious illness.

The Delaware Hospice Center in Milford is the first of its kind in Delaware, providing comprehensive, specialized, 24/7 care to patients in need of critical, short-term symptom management.

Katybug our pediatric program, helps children facing a serious illness live well while improving their quality of life and helping their families cope with the challenges and feelings that are a natural part of their journey.

Grief Support is offered to all family members before and after a loved one passes and continues for thirteen months after loss through a variety of workshops and support groups.

New Hope, our children and teen bereavement program, targets children struggling with an expected or unexpected loss. Camp New Hope allows campers to meet others going through similar experiences and interact in traditional and bereavement activities.

It's never too early to call. Let us help you so you can focus on what matters.
